President's Scholarship

Belles of the American Royal (BOTAR) Presidents’ Scholarship Since 1949, the BOTAR (Belles of the American Royal) Organization has supported the American Royal Association by fostering community interest, providing volunteer services, raising funds and enabling growth and development. The Presidents’ Scholarship is awarded to an applicant who best represents the spirit of volunteerism as determined by representatives of the BOTAR Organization. Eligibility

Criteria : Persons are eligible to apply for the scholarship if they:

  • Are entering their senior year of high school in 2011 or are currently pursuing an undergraduate or associates degree in any field of study,
  • Have completed and documented at least 15 volunteer hours at American Royal events (see detailed listing of qualifying events and verification form),
  • Have maintained a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.

Procedure : This scholarship is a one-time cash award of $2500 payable directly to the college or university in the 2012 school year.  Funds must be applied toward tuition, room, and/or board.  If the recipient withdraws from college, unused funds must be returned to the BOTAR Organization.  The winner will be notified by December 15, 2011 and must be present when the scholarship is awarded at the Winter BOTAR Meeting in January of 2012 (date TBA).  Instructions:Please provide all information and responses on this application in printed format.  Handwritten or incomplete applications will not be accepted.
